Ingredients:

Cake

1-1/4 cups (137.5 g) PRINCESS CAKE FLOUR
1-1/2 tsp (6 g) BAKE BEST BAKING POWDER
1/2 tsp (2.5 g) iodized fine salt
2/3 cup (133 g) sugar
1/4 cup (56 g) cooking oil
4 pc (200 g) MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, separate egg yolks from whites
6 tbsp water
1/4 tsp (0.8 g) cream of tartar

Filling

1/2 cup (90 g) STAR MARGARINE CLASSIC
1/2 cup (100 g) sugar

Topping

1/2 cup (90 g) STAR MARGARINE CLASSIC, melted
1 cup (100 g) sugar

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line with baking paper a 12x16x1 inch rectangular pan. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder salt, 1/3 cup sugar, water, egg yolks and oil. Mix and set aside.
  3. With a mixer, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peak stage. Gradually add remaining sugar and continue beating until medium stiff peak stage.
  4. Combine the two mixtures by carefully folding in egg white foam into cake batter until fully incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove cake from the pan. Spread star margarine and sprinkle with sugar. Roll the cake carefully with baking paper and set for 30 minutes inside the refrigerator or 1 hour at room temperature. Remove baking paper, and then brush melted margarine all over, then roll the cake in sugar or sprinkle with sugar.

Makes 12 slices.
